I finished the first part of Angels and Insects, called Morpho Eugenia. It's pretty slow stuff, especially the passages of the book that the main character is writing and the arguments on Darwin and god (to be fair, I skimmed through most of that). Byatt is a very carful and wonderful craftsperson, though, and her levels of metaphor are enviable. I wish I could write like that. Go read it. The philosophy is pretty good, but I've just been over it too much so it doesn't hold new ideas for me.

Looks like we may or may not be in for some serious rain. It's very indecisive out. Rains for a bit, stops, gets dark, gets light, thunders. I should probably get some writing done, especially now that the house is excruciatingly clean.
