I now have a copy of der Bruder Grimm's Kinder- und Hausmarchen, publication date 1888 by Wilhelm Herk, I think. No English preface, and nowhere on the web claims its existence. But it's $5 well spent anyway. If I'd had $25, I'd have something even better. Grr.
Other things I found:
Underworld by Don Delillo
Shogun (vols 1 and 2) by James Clavell
King Rat by James Clavell
Implant by F. Paul Wilson
Mrs. DeWinter by Susan Hill (only noted the author later)
Waking the Moon by Elizabeth Hand
The Witches of Eastwick by John Updike

In other news, I bought a coffee plant because it was there (I impulse shop plants a lot). And if you ever see a back of that special potting soil that claims to hold water so you don't have to water so often, don't get it. Your plants will rot. Exciting, yes?
