My grandmother mailed me (actually mailed me) her Franklin Shockey Co hope chest, circa unknown. She thought it was a Lane chest, despite the "Franklin Shockey...Lexington, NC" stamp. Apparently there are secret societies who know things about hope chests, especially ones from that particular company, and I don't have the secret handshake. It's almost like they disavow ever making the darn things.

But on the bright side, it's a really neat chest. So yay.
