So, I work with this drunken lush... One way she attempts to hide her inadequacies is by pointing out how many mistakes or mis-filings I have made. Its been a few days since she has been able to "hold" something over my head, so today she had quite a treat.

The morning went quite well actually, she was chatty which is highly unusual for her, as she is normally so hungover (or sometimes still drunk from the night before). By the time I returned from my lunch break, I could tell by the look on her face that I did something wrong.

She starts with "you know how important it is that we keep a paper trail of all our transactions..." which now I know this is leading to something to do with the cash ledger...

She informs me that I should not scribble something off the ledger book, instead, I should just put one single line through the transaction and inital it. {Duh ya drunk, eye new dat!)

She makes a big deal about having to get up from her desk, get the ledger book and points out a transaction that had been scribbled out of the ledger book, no initals, no nothing, just one big scribble mark...

I attempt to let her know that it wasnt my scribble and she just kept bantering on, and unfortunately the way our desks are situated, I am not able to run away LOL

after about 5 minutes of her degrading speach and so forth, the person who was truly resonsible for the scribble comes marching into the office. He hears only part of the conversation, and turns tail and marched right out of the office. TYPICAL!

Once she was finished with her lecture, she just walks away, puts down the ledger book and informs me I need to correct the problem. To her, that was end of conversation...

So no problem, I fix the stupid ledger corrected the mistake, make sure its accurate and sat down at my desk. I then inform her that she had talked to the wrong person, that it wasnt my scribble mark in the ledger and next time instead of assuming she should ask first.

Its only in the last few weeks that I have started sticking it right back to her, not letting her get away with making me feel like an idiot. I do have to say the look on her face was priceless after I told her it wasnt even my fault :)

Daughter is out and about with her friends tonight, which is a good thing. She's been doing overtime with school activities and just really needs to be a kid tonight. Besides the rush of freshman year, she's been involved with stage crew for the upcoming musical "Anything Goes". The last 2 weeks she's been coming home from school at 2:30 only to go back there at 5 and stay there til 10 pm every night of the week, besides having weekend practices. I just wish she would slow down a bit and spend some time at home (gawd did I just say that?!)
