The Roommate
Directed by: Christian E. Christiansen

While acclimating to campus life, college freshman Sara (Minka Kelly) begins to realize that her new roommate, Rebecca (Leighton Meester), is becoming obsessed with her. When the unhinged Rebecca starts targeting Sara's friends and loved ones, can she save them - and herself? This tense psychological thriller also stars Cam Gigandet, Danneel Harris, Alyson Michalka and Frances Fisher.

The reason I rented this movie was because I was told in someone else's review that it was so bad, it was laughable. Well, it was not laughable. It was just plain bad.

The plot was bad, the acting was bad, and I have to wonder if that's even the director's real name.

There were moments that could have been intense and could have made you wince, but they were all softened up. Let's stalk someone in the shower... only to yank out their belly button ring. Really? *yawn*

It wasn't even laughable when Rebecca changed her hair color to brown to match Sara's... and then proceeded to sometimes have blonde and sometimes have brown hair for the rest of the movie.

I would not recommend this movie to anyone. While it's not as bad as some films I've seen, it still was not any good.

If you want to see a crazy college roommate movie, rent American Psycho 2. If you want to see a decent stalker movie, rent Swimfan. If you want to see a crazy roommate movie, rent Single White Female. Those all at least have some redeeming qualities to them. Just don't rent this one. It's not worth it even if you happen to catch it free on TV.

My Rating: Two out of five snails.
