Yet another potential avenue vanishes... my person who has the SciFi connection read my pilot then talked to her person at SciFi -- now they're looking for monster movies, and no series. She recommended me to a couple of other places to contact, but I need to focus on the rep so I can get it to those places.

In a moment of inspiration, I asked if she'd be comfortable giving me a quotable I could use when approaching a potential rep -- something like a TV Guide quote. You know the kind: "Entertaining romp, vibrant characters, a series rich in potential" Something that puts me a little ahead of others on the slush pile. She's going to think about it. I understand if she doesn't want me to bandy about her name, but it might help a lot if she does.

And in slightly different news, a director friend who's working with SciFi on distributing his independently made monster movie approached me about possibly collaborating on the sequel. After this week of depressing news, I said I'd love to talk about it.

If SciFi wants a monster movie, we'll give 'em a monster movie. Who knows where it might lead. At least it's an affirmation that it's not my talent that Murphy's messing with at the moment!
