A Little Game for My Writing Readers

I am asking you, my regular and occasional readers, to play a little writing game here in my journal.

What I propose is this: Anyone interested will write a collaboritive, speculative story with some connection to Texas that will be posted here in my journal, as it grows. Once it's finished, I'll edit it and, if the result is a working, effective tale, publish it in Lone Star Stories with each author's contribution credited. The $5 story payment will be split amongst all of the authors, so this will be done for personal satisfaction and enjoyment, rather than spending money.

Here's how I envision the game working: I will write a theme, and then whoever wants to get the ball rolling can write the start of the tale. When that person has written as much as they care to, they can e-mail it to me at lonestar@erictmarin.com. I'll do a quick edit, then post it here. Anyone who reads it can then add to it by e-mailing the continuation to me. I'll then post an edited version of the continuation, and so on. So, whoever e-mails a section of story should wait to see what is written next before sending in a new piece of the story. In case of overlapping submissions, I'll post all of them, which means the story could go in several directions at once. If we end up with more than one completed story, I'll pick the one that works best for Lone Star Stories.

So, without further ado, here is the broad story theme:
Myth and its Effect on Human Behavior.

Don't forget the Texas connnection....

Oh, and feel free to tell me if you think I'm being silly or if you like this idea in the comments section of my journal.
