My job is going very well, but it's amazing how much energy practicing law in a busy firm takes out of me. I'm hoping that I'll adjust to the drain soon, as I want to write in the evenings. For now I have to accept that I'll only get any real writing done on the weekends.

I did do a serious amount of editing of a story that a magazine wanted to buy if I trimmed about 800 words from it. I managed to knock out a little more than requested in about an hour and a half last night and sent it back to the editor. I expect to hear from him this evening because his upcoming issue is already late.

I'm still getting submissions for Lone Star Stories every few days or so, but nothing has jumped out at me. I've only had one poet submit so far, and I'd really like to receive more poems. So, if anyone reading this has poems that have a Texas connection or know poets who do, please send them my way. The same holds for stories as well, of course.

I sent off a story to Alchemy today, my first mailed submission in some time. We'll see how it goes, but I'm ready to send it along to the next pro market if necessary (and so on).
