I started a new story today, and I'm not sure whether it will be a short or long piece. I managed to write 500 words while my baby napped and my wife and mother-in-law made a trip to the grocery store for last minute items needed for today's birthday party.

The party went well, and my daughter toddled away with some nifty presents. She had her first birthday cake, followed immediately by a bath to remove what didn't make it into her mouth. She definitely likes cake, in and on her....

Critical MS is moving along nicely. Joseph posted a story, and I and another group member commented on it. Good stuff all around.

One of my partners called today and asked me to work on a case tomorrow. So, I'll pop into the office, grab the file and the necessary legal texts, then return home to work on the project. At least I'll be in the house with my family this way.

I have a feeling that I won't be getting much writing done tomorrow.
