I've had a productive weekend for both writing and editing. I now have the final version of the April issue of Lone Star Stories ready to go, and this issue will have a photograph for each story and poem. It appears to have turned out nicely, and readers will be able to form their own opinions on April 1st.

I also wrote a short story last night based on a word of the week chosen by one of my fellow workshoppers. The word was "garbanzo" -- a nice, random word that led to an amusing tale. I'm not sure I'll ever do anything with the story, but it was refreshing to get a story finished (the first draft at least). It had been quite a while since I wrote my last story.

I decided to leave out an editorial for Lone Star Stories again. I played with one for a bit, but it just felt like empty words. I want all of the focus of my readers on the fiction and poetry of the contributors (and on my photos to a small extent, I suppose). If I ever feel the need to say anything important, I'll write an editorial for that particular subject. For now, though, no editorial.
