Poems for Lone Star Stories

I have the pleasure of announcing that a poem by Mikal Trimm, "Medusa's End," and a poem by Lisa M. Bradley, "Immobility," will appear in the June issue of Lone Star Stories.

I'm very happy to say that, as of today, I have three poems (two by Mikal and one by Lisa) for the June issue. That's enough poetry for one issue, but I'll be happy to accept more. I still have only one story so far; I definitely want to see more fiction submissions.

The Critical MS writing group is certainly sparking my creativity. I wrote a 750 word story last night as a result of combining two "words of the week." It's a game we play, where each week one the workshop members posts a word that we all are encouraged to use in a story. We then post the story for general feedback. I've already sent a story written from a word of the week to Strange Horizons, so I find it a productive method for generating stories.

On the submissions front, I'm beginning to wonder if Ideomancer is actually interested in one of my stories. Today is the thirtieth day since I submitted it, and they are usually pretty darn quick in rejecting stories. They also may have lost it, which is quite possible with all of the spam they receive. Nonetheless, I'm going to be guardedly hopeful. I may query in a week, just to ensure that it is under consideration.
