Two Tales for Lone Star Stories

I have the pleasure of announcing that "Cool Rejection," a short story by Josh Rountree, will appear in the June issue of Lone Star Stories. I am also happy to announce that "With Stealth and Grace, the Hunter Roams," a short story by Mikal Trimm, will appear in the August issue.

So, I have two stories and three poems so far for the June issue and one story for the August issue. I think one more story will suffice for the June issue. I need to start thinking about taking some photos to go along with the works for the upcoming issue. Hmm. . ..

My little girl is doing much better now. Antibiotics may be overprescribed, but they sure helped her get well quickly.

On the writing side of things, I haven't done much for the past couple of days, other than revise a pair of poems and send them out. I did buy a copy of Writing the Breakout Novel by Donald Maas after reading Jenn Reese's journal entry about the book. I'm hoping it will help me get a grip on my sputtering novel.

I have twenty-three stories and poems in the submissions cycle at present, which is a record for me. I'm planning on increasing the number as time passes, even if a few of the pieces sell.

Work is keeping me hopping. I'm going to work another ten hours tomorrow, but I'll take Sunday off and enjoy Mother's Day with my wife and daughter.

That's it for news for now. Goodnight!
