My family took a little roadtrip out to Brownfield Thursday to visit my wife's family, and we returned home this afternoon. I brought my laptop with me, so I was able to get some writing on a new story done (set in West Texas, of all places), but I had very limited internet access. I was able to check e-mail only. I received four rejections via e-mail while gone, and one of them was a rejection by Lenox Avenue of the story I rewrote for them. That was a bit of a downer. At least Claude Lalumiere from Lost Pages wrote me a status e-mail a few days ago to let me know that he still is likely to accept my rewritten flash piece when he can focus on work again.

That's about it for news. I'm going to try and write some more of my new story this evening. Six hundred words and counting. . ..
