I submitted a set of four tree-themed flash fiction pieces, "Flashes in the Trees," today to Fortean Bureau. This is the first time I've ever submitted a themed collection to a market, and I'll be interested to see what sort of reaction the Tolberts have to it.

I had an interesting week on the professional front. A law firm in Houston called me out of the blue and asked me to join them. They offered me a decent salary on partner track, but it wasn't enticing enough to move away from Austin. I have other career plans to pursue, but it was flattering to get an unsolicited employment offer like that.

With the unexpected job offer thing out of the way, I feel like writing tonight. I might even work on one of my many fiction fragments. . ..
