I completed a 2100 word dark fantasy/humor short story last night and sent it off in search of a home. I then revised another similarly themed tale of 4000 words and sent that one off today. It feels great to finally be in fiction-writing mode again.

Don't get me wrong. I've enjoyed the poetry I've written for the past few weeks, but my writing felt too poetrycentric. To achieve more balanced writing production I'm now shooting for a poem or two a week and a story a week.

On the fiction side, I've spent some time revising a 6000 word story that needs a whole new ending, and that's going fairly well. Once I've completed it, I'll target my woefully neglected collaborative and shared world stories.

Lone Star Stories still needs two stories for the October-November issue, so any writers who happen to read this entry are welcome to submit their work.
