I noticed a rise in submissions to Lone Star Stories recently, and I decided to look at the actual numbers. Last month I received 53 fiction and poetry submissions (not counting multiple poetry submissions), up from 37 in December. There were more fiction subs than poetry subs, as always, and I accepted three stories and one poem over that two month period -- roughly 4% of the work submitted.

I've realized two things:

1. I'm getting a decent amount of submissions for a low-paying webzine, so word of Lone Star Stories is spreading among writers. That's quite cool.

2. I'm awfully picky about what I accept, which helps keep my own writing rejection numbers in perspective. *grin*
