Marriage is love.

The Friday Five...Christmas Music

1) If you had to choose CDs as a soundtrack for the Christmas season, what would they be?

Nat King Cole, The Christmas Album
Barbra, The Christmas Album
The two Chanticleer Christmas CD's
Christopher Parkening and Kathleen Battle's Christmas CD
RuPaul's Ho Ho Ho
Chicago Gay Men's Chorus, "Cool Yule"
Those three Time-Life Christmas CD's

2) How do you feel about singing all the verses of "The First Noel?" (Six in our hymnal, but apparently there are nine.)

The song is boring, but it's not hard to sing, and the peeps seem to like it. And in our hymnal it's "Nowell," what's up with that?

3) "O, Come All Ye Faithful" has a lot of verses, too. Which is your favorite?

"Sing choirs of angels..."

4) What music do you play while opening presents?

RuPaul's Christmas CD---I open presents alone.

5) Which carols do you consider to be Christmas Eve essentials?

Silent Night (in church)
I Wonder as I Wander (at home)
Joy to the World (in church at Midnight..but only one verse, sung after the reading of the nativity)
Sweet Little Jesus Boy (in church, I sing it to open the candlelight service each year.)

and a Bonus Question:

6) What, if any, is your favorite secular Christmas song?

The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting...)
Santa Baby (Ms. Kitt or Ms. RuPaul...NOT Ms. Ciccone)
