As most of you have heard, the newest award winning books have been named recently. I would like to put in a recommendation for some of them (of course, they are all fantastic and worth the read!). Three, in particular, really stood out to me this year and I think you should give them a try:

1. Elijah of Buxton by Christopher Paul Curtis- Coretta Scott King winner and Newbery Honor

2. Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt- Newbery Honor

3. The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick- Caldecott winner
