Only two days late, I've finished story number two of the great story challenge (see previous entries for details). I've been kind of stuck on this one all week. Mainly that was because I've been exhausted, but partially also because I wasn't sure how to deal with a central plot point. When I worked it out today, that unjammed the story and I wrote the final 1,800 words in about an hour and a half. It's a massive relief, and I now feel really good about it.

Earlier today, Steph and I hung out in the Starbucks in Borders in Leeds, reading. I read several books on ancient Egypt for story number 3, and Steph read the new Terry Pratchett novel, Monstrous Regiment, which, apparently, is very good. I'll probably need to do a little more research on this story, just like I'll have to go back and do some more research for the story I've just completed, but I've got enough to go on for now. All I have to do is work out the plot. Less time to finish the story this week as my Mum is coming to visit next weekend.
