It's raining. The sky is a pale, uniform grey, and low. The air is damp-twilight. It's kind of nice, actually, from the inside. Outside, the damp worms its way in.

Novel Progress
Typed words: 5,100.
About 4 pages of handwritten words to type in (maybe 1,000 words) done this morning.
I was going to finish the chapter today, but I've decided to extend it rather than ending where I was. I've felt I've had too many short scenes, so a long one is in progress. A couple more pages and it'll be done.

Goals for Tomorrow
Write last two pages of the chapter. Plan next chapter and start writing it.

This novel has been far less planned than my last one. Last time, I had outlines of what happened right from near the beginning. This time, I'm only planning a chapter at a time, although I know where I'm heading. It's a little more intimidating this way, but it also feels more organic and natural. It might mean more work on the revision stage, I guess, but that's a problem for another day.
