I ought to be writing about writing, but I'm not. I'm not writing about writing because I'm not writing, which is depressing. Here's the thing: novels. They are a pain. No, really. When you're writing them, it's great. You can write every single day, sometimes thousands of words in a day. But when you're not writing them, when you're just trying to work out what is going to happen so you can write them, you feel like you're dragging a truck up a hill. It's painful and slow and if you blink you're heading backwards.

I guess I am writing about writing after all.

I've been spending the day trying to work out how to format webpages using CSS (see my journal entry from a couple of days ago for details) for work. I'm getting there, but as I'm rather groping my way forward, it's all very trial and error. For those who are interested in such things and know about webpages, my current effort is here. This is very much a work in progress and there are some fudges at the moment, but if anything looks completely awful to you, let me know.

I'll probably take this down in a few days as a work in progress shouldn't really be live, but I need to check it from different computers and with different browsers to see what it looks like.
