Last day of holiday today and it's ending with a bang! I just got a phone call from Carolyn Whitaker of London Independent Books and she wants to represent my YA novel. (It was previously called "The Winter of the Earth" but is being retitled as "Touching Ice".) I was kind of nervous when I sent her the rewrite a month or so ago, but she likes it a lot. I am now officially agented!!! It hasn't quite sunk in yet and we haven't decided how to celebrate, but I'm sure we'll think of something...

We got back from Christmas at my Mum's on Saturday. We had a good time, but it was nice to get back to our own house, even though we have to do our own cooking and cleaning here. :)

Whenever we have a holiday, I always tell myself how much reading and writing I'm going to get done, but of course I didn't do that much at all. I finished Iain M. Banks' The Algebraist, which was great, and read a few other bits, and I wrote about 2,000 words, but that was all. I did manage to eat far too much, though.
