Everyone asks: Why are Hershey kisses wrapped in foil? Well I have that answer. The Hershey co. thought and thought what will attract people to their candy. Feathers? No. That would be messy. How about a Hershey kiss sized clown hat? No. That would be too silly. Maybe the colors red and white all over it? Because Switzerland makes the finest chocolate (if you didn’t know that). No. That would be to geographic. Mirror? No. See through paper? No. Pictures of pennies to show it was cheap? No. All that stuff is just too fancy.

Child: Can we buy those Hershey kisses? They look soooooo good! Pleeeeeease!!!???
Mother: No. They are just too fancy looking. You probably wont like them anyway.

So the Hershey co. thought and thought of a simple but attractive wrapping for their candy. Green? Yellow? Blue? Silver? Gold? Black and white stripes? Sparkly? Yes! That’s it! Gold! Silver! Black and Silver stripes! That’s it! They would use silver for a regular Hershey kiss, gold for Hershey kisses with almonds in them, and black and silver shaped ones for a mixture of Hershey chocolate and white chocolate. The Hershey co. had solves their problem! And their wrapping was successful in selling and attractive!
