2008-04-02 4:17 PM Through the Window Widow Out the dirt-spattered window, I stared out at the next apartment window above their kitchen sink. It aligned with my bedroom window next to my dresser. Extremely muffled sobs brought me to look out the window. I peeked, got on the floor and lifted my eyes above the sill. She wasn't looking at me. But I could see her eyes. They were blotchy and smearing her makeup and I could tell she had been sobbing her heart out before. Now it had diminished to tiny heaves every few seconds as her heavy set body moved inches up and sunk down as of she were doing pull ups. Looked away from the TV avoiding her eyes from anything in the room. I stood up alongside the window and leaned in to watch her some more. What is wrong with her? She won't look, like a 20/20 vision child pretending to be blind. I looked down at my bare feet and square-ish toes. I heard a soft gathering snort and exhalation. I examined my heels from a distance. When I looked up a minute later, she was gone.
