It's beginning to look a lot like Sum-mer!

So yesterday Berek and I went swimming at 9:30 in the morning and it was great! No one else was in the pool and it was nice to just relax in the morning heat and be comfy. We slathered sunscreen like crazy, but it was still comfortable.

We saw a black and white kitty (whom I've seen before wandering) meowing and attempting to get anyone's attention. Of course, being the cat lady, it got my attention. The tail on this cat seemed to have been broken off at the middle of the coccygeal vertebrae, but it also appeared to be an old injury. I thought upon closer examination of the cat that it was female, I thought she was pregnant. She tried to squeeze through the pool fence bars and couldn't make it so I shooed her away in hopes that she wouldn't get stuck. It worked. She wandered away. I felt so bad for her though. She was a nice little kitty. There was a guy who had come out on his balcony and was sipping at some beer and she wandered over to him and jumped onto his balcony. He pet her and she jumped into his balcony. I couldn't tell if maybe she was owned by him, but he closed his screen door which told me he might've just been nice to her.

I decided that if she was a stray she'd probably be hungry especially if she's pregnant. So I fixed up a plate of food for her and set it on top of my balcony. She jumped up onto the balcony, at which point my cats were really pissed. Their food going to some common stray? Unthinkable. I had a closer look at genitalia and she actually was a he! On top of that, I don't think he's a stray. He's fat and he was finicky with the food I gave him. Not to mention a stray would've wolfed down every last bite! He did no such thing. I think either someone abandoned him here at this building or they keep him outdoors (which they're not supposed to). I felt so bad for him though, especially not being able to be sure.

In any case, later we met up with Rob and Jen at the Swap Meet after I had did a bit of studying and took a dip in the pool again. It was nice and cool and it was nice to be out of the house with friends. I had a lot of fun. After the Swap Meet we went to the Topanga Mall. It was cool there as well. I went into Illuminations. Big Mistake! I found a great Wall sconce that I love which was on sale for 15 bucks! It was perfect. Then I had to buy some tealights because they were on sale too. Everything of course went on my credit card. *Sigh* I feel so stupid now, but I think everything we bought will be put to good use.

After the Mall, we went to Tower and Toys R Us. I used much self-control and refrained from using my credit card again. As it was I was broke and rent is coming. I won't be able to pay off the amount I spent. Rob was really nice though, he bought Berek and I dinner at Pizza Cookery. He claimed it was no problem and that to think of it as celebration for Berek getting out of Collar & Leash. (We'll buy him and Jen dinner next, sometime soon) :D

Rob and Jen dropped us off at home and we went swimming one last time for the day (that would be time #3 for me). It was a bit crowded in the pool, but we still enjoyed it. We talked and fooled around by splashing and trying to drown one another and then we headed in when it got slightly too cold. Then we watched Animal House on t.v. until we fell asleep. That was the first time I've slept so well in a while. Physical activity does help with sleep. :D
