So this past weekend was awesome! On Friday, I went out with Liz to see The Grudge 2. While the movie wasn't impressive it was fun. The only problem that I had was a group of teenies that were really stupid and noisy. A lot of people were getting annoyed. I think it was because they were obnoxious and irritating because not only were they dumb, but they couldn't stop playing with their cellphones! It was like you're watching a film and then you're blinded by the 10 cellphone lights that are surrounding you. I think 4 people finally got up and got the theater personnel involved. There was a big guy who came in wearing a suit and basically told the kids to knock it off. He didn't stay for the rest of the film, but at least the kids got it. Ah well. The movie itself was fun, but it wasn't a great movie. So I wouldn't recommend seeing it in the theaters. Wait to rent it. Fortunately, I got to see it for free. (I had a free ticket.)

Before the movie though, Berek met Liz and I at Ruby's for dinner. We had some awesome burgers and just hung out. I had an awesome banana cream milkshake. (I haven't had a milkshake in forever and it was good!) I had predicted (before he got there) that Berek would order one of the sliders meals. :) I was right! Had Liz accepted my bet, I would've made 5 bucks! After dinner we wandered the mall for a bit and went into the SPCA location. Oh, they had some cute kitties there! I saw a white one that I would've taken in an instant. It was full-grown, but it had striking white eyes. Not the usual blue eyes. There was a little white kitten that I would've taken too. Aw, heck...I'd taken them all if I could! :)

After the movie though, I headed home and pretty much went straight to bed. About 3 hours later, I woke up to the most horrible feeling at the back of my throat. I must've had bad acid reflux and came damn near to aspirating, because my windpipe was burning! In a sleepy daze, I tried gargling some milk, water and even taking some Tums. Nothing helped. I felt like I was going to throw up because I kept tasting the acid. It was horrible. It sounds kind of weird, but Naboo started following me around when I got up. At first I figured it must've been because I was in the kitchen, but then he followed me directly to the bathroom where I took the Tums. I stood there for a little bit biting back the feeling of throwing up. He sat there waiting for me and looking at me. Then I figured there wasn't much I could do and that I should just wait it out as best I could. I laid down and no sooner than I got under the covers did Naboo jump up onto the bed and walked onto my chest and started kneading. He laid down and rubbed my hand. While it's not strange for him to lay on my chest, it is strange for him to keep nuzzling my hand. I kept petting him and I stayed awake for awhile longer. The pain gradually subsided and I was able to go to sleep. I think Naboo somehow wanted me to stay awake and stay focused on him. For what reason, I'm not sure. In any case, that was the only bad thing that happened over the weekend.

Saturday, we took Naboo in for his blood draw and Hal in for his annual check-up. They were good kitties, but Hal managed to get so worked up in the carrier that he peed in it. *sigh* Ah well. These things do happen. The doctor was very pleased with Hal's teeth. Fortunately, he chews his food very well and so he is likely to not ever need a teeth cleaning. :) Yay!

The only bad thing about the cats was that Berek must've gotten a strand of hair with urine on it in his eye. His eye swelled up so much it was very painful and it had creased at the junction between the cornea and sclera. It looked like he had a dent in his eye. (It did heal on it's own, thankfully.)

After we took Da Boyz home and washed out the carrier (and cleaned them up), Berek and I headed into Camarillo. We both needed new tennis shoes. The Sketchers store there had a great deal on shoes and so we each bought 2 pairs of sneakers. :) Berek actually liked a pair of shoes without laces. They came in black and black and brown. Berek has never really wore (at least in the time that I've known him) a pair of shoes that weren't all black. So I was very happy to see that he was trying something new. I bought a pair of shoes that were like my old ones, only they were blue and I bought a pair of brown sueded shoes. I'm totally digging brown right now, so I've got a nice pair of shoes to match my brown stuff. :)

After the Sketchers store, we wandered the Outlets and had lunch at Subway. I wasn't interested in eating after the previous night's problem. But I knew I needed to eat.

We wandered over to a different shopping mall after lunch and went to a Petco there and they happened to be having a Pet Halloween costume contest. It was great! There was a kitty that was dressed up as a witch, a chocolate lab dressed as a hula dancer, a bunny dressed as a witch, a terrier dressed as a devil, a basset hound dressed as a pirate, and a pug dressed as Tinkerbell! They were really cute! I ended up buying a new catnip pillow for the cats (which they later tore up!).

Then we wandered Target and then headed home. We made a stop at the Topanga Mall because I needed to take my ring in to be inspected.

After that we headed home and I went to Liz's house. We were going to have a ladies' night watching horror flicks and playing goth dress up with a bunch of gals, but everyone else flaked, so it was just the two of us. No biggie though, we still had loads of fun. Liz did my make-up and put me in an auburn wig and then we took loads of pictures. It was fun! :) Afterwards, we decided we wanted some alcohol and junk food. So we went to Vons in normal clothing, but with the goth make-up on. We looked pretty naughty. We even got picked up on by a guy who was probably twice our senior...bleh! We ran out of Vons and quickly went back to her house where we plopped down and watched The Omen (the new one) and Stay Alive. Both were very good movies. I enjoyed them. We had our fill of candy, popcorn and alcohol. :) I managed to stay up later than Liz though...she conked out at effectively 1 a.m. (before the time change). HEHE!

Sunday was a laid back day. We went to do our grocery shopping. I decided I was going to bake though. I had gotten an apple bread's dry ingredients when we went to the apple orchards. So I did it. I baked two apple breads! Oh the apartment smelled so awesome! I made a great dinner too. We had teriyaki pineapple turkey sausage with udon noodle salad that we got from Whole Foods and a green leaf salad with feta cheese and greek dressing. Plus, we got to watch Justice League Unlimited during dinner! Ah, it was so great! We had a piece of the apple bread shortly after it cooled a bit and it was AWESOME! WOOT! So this was a great weekend! But the best weekend is yet to come! WOOT! :D
