2006-12-19 7:43 AM Brrrrr! Mood: Cold! Read/Post Comments (0) |
Well now, this is great! I'm digging the weather! It is nice and cold, which means it's a beautiful thing at night to snuggle up to your sweetie under the blankets and just snooze the night away. While that is what I had intended on happening last night it didn't exactly. I'll get to that in a moment though.
Last night I bought my Secret Santa (Gag gift) for my co-worker after I got off of work. She likes Coke, so I bought her a bottle of Pepsi. She likes chocolate, so I bought her a large solid Hershey Kiss and a toothbrush. Sounds like a gag gift to me. :) I got home and cooked some dinner because I was starving. We had hot dogs and pierogis. :) Yum (although, the pierogies were bad for Berek's bg)! I surfed the internet and cleared some of my junk e-mail. Berek got home and he ate his dinner and caught a moment of Jeopardy. It was amazing, we caught one clue from Jeopardy and then turned it off to head off to Rob & Jen's house. We had a gift for Gabriel for his first Christmas/first birthday (since we probably won't be getting out to Wisconsin for his b-day). Gabe was asleep, but we figured that would be alright. He'll see it when he wakes up. :) Rob and Jen dug the toy and we chatted for a bit and then we said our good-byes and took off. We had to pick up his dad from the Flyaway. On the way, Berek and I stopped at the Malibu Castle and played a couple of games of skeeball. Then we gave our tickets to a guy & girl there who were having lots of fun gathering tickets. They were very appreciative. :) I enjoy giving away my tickets to kids, but this time these teens looked like they were having a nice date. I thought why not brighten the spirit up a bit. :) Ah, young love! Then we headed out and Berek realized that he had missed a call from his dad. Crap! We had forgotten his wheelchair. Fortunately, it worked out and things weren't too bad. Although, I have to say we were pretty stressed about various things. I also managed to slam my head into the car as I started to sit in the front passenger seat. Ouch! That exacerbated the tension headache I already had. Bleh. So we got to the Flyaway (after we made a wrong turn) and waited for dad to get there. I just sat down and busted out the wedding guest list and had managed to cross out one name (we're attempting to shorten it) when dad's bus rolled in. Gargh! So Berek went to help dad with his luggage and the attendant bitched at him because he wasn't allowed to go through. Berek's dad then explained because of his handicap, he can't get the luggage and bring it with him. So she let him through but told him to go a different way (rather than through the turnstyles). But then, she bitched again as she said that he couldn't go through. To which Berek's response was, "Um, you just told me I could and that I should go this way." She nodded and gave up. *sigh* Can we say "Scarlet S"? I knew that you could! :D After we got dad, we drove him home and made a stop at McDonalds. I was hungry so I went ahead and ordered the 2 cheeseburger meal and gave Berek my soda. It was so overloaded with salt I was amazed. Just after a month of reducing my salt intake, it's amazing how much I can taste real food now. When I get crap, it's very clear what I'm eating...salt! Bleh! So that was unsatisfying! I also received a text message from a friend of mine who is unhappy at her place of work. :( I contacted her (although I forgot who she was because her number wasn't in my phone because I haven't finished transferring peoples numbers to my new phone) and asked who she was and we got to talking and apparently she had a really bad day yesterday and I'm hoping we'll get an opportunity to talk today. I hope I can convince her to find her way out of that situation because it isn't a good one. After that, I decided to lay down and snuggle with Berek who was working on his crossword and then started looking through the paper. I fell asleep all bundled up underneath the blankets and it felt good. Until, oh about 3 a.m., when the cats started rambunctiously playing...on top of me! Aargh! Ah well...que sera sera!
