I know, I know...it's been a long time since I've written anything here. Lately, the house has been taking presidence over my time...which makes sense. After all, it's where I live...right?

Anyway, I know some of you have been asking for honeymoon photos and stuff...I will get to it as soon as I can. :)

I can tell you that ever since I went to the UK...all I want is to go back!! I love it there. There's something almost otherworldly there. Life is completely different out there than it is out here. If I could move out there, I soooooo would! Not sure that it'll ever happen though.

I can give you a brief run down of our experience in the UK. Well the first half of it anyway... (AND YES, THIS IS BRIEF!!) First of all, if you thought LAX was huge...you should try going to London Heathrow!! But It is probably the largest airport I have ever seen!! Though, I suppose I haven't seen many airports. But it is an international hub for Europe...so...I guess that's why it's so huge! Anyway, lugging around two pieces of luggage each was a real pain in the arse. But we managed. The bus to take us to the hotel cost a fortune!! It was £4 each, which is $8 each person! (Of course we found out later that the city buses were free from the airport to hotel row. *shakes head*)

Actually, I'm going to back track a moment to the coolest plane experience ever!! Did I mention that my dad rocks? He got us on First Class for a nice 10 hr plane ride and let me tell you it was soooo cool. They gave us more food that I could ever eat again! (Dad said they would and that I should take advantage of it! So I did) For a pre-flight drink, you could choose from sparkling water, wine or orange juice. I had the orange juice. We got to sit in our own little areas. Berek sat behind me. These seats were cool...they reclined and also folded out all the way to make a great bed! :D We had our own tv screens, but the movie system wasn't working. Oh well, we had plenty to do on our own though.

Once in flight, we were given warm mixed nuts and/or mozzarella cheese with tomatoes and peppers. Next, they gave us artisan bread with olive oil and butter. After that we were given lox and shrimp with capers and red onions, next a full green salad, and finally our main course!! I had the lamb and Berek had the short ribs. Mmmmm...so good! Best airline food I ever had! After dinner you get to have dessert which was either a cheese & fruit platter or a sundae. I had the sundae which was delectable! After which they offered you an after dinner chocolate where they brought a box of Lindt chocolate around and you got to pick what you wanted. :) Whew! I was stuffed! Then they asked if we wanted them to wake us up for breakfast which could be cereal with a bagel, yogurt and juice or an omelet with filet mignon. I chose the cereal. Berek had the omelette. :D

Okay back to London, even though we weren't in the main part of London, it was amazing. The buildings all looked so old, but well-kept, unlike the buildings in the Greater Los Angeles area, which can appear run-down and dilapidated. The cars were all on the wrong side of the road it seemed...so here comes the culture shock! :D Tiny cars ruled the road it seemed. There were a few SUV's, but not many when the gas prices out there are £1.09 per litre of petrol (or gas) which it takes a little less that 4 litres to make a gallon... So in USD it would be a little less than $8.72 a gallon...and we're complaining about gas prices out here...the rest of the world must think we're whiny little b****es!! ;)

The hotel was nice. Nothing spectacular and very much like the ones we've been in here. I was pretty jet-lagged and pretty much conked out at like 6p.m. London time which would be 10a.m. Los Angeles time. I woke up about a couple hours later and realized that we had to get food. Fortunately, there was a McDonalds up the street a bit. So we headed there. Yes...I know...our first night in London, and we're eating McDonalds. Heh, but let me tell you...the food out there was WAYYYYYYY better than the McDonalds out here. They even looked like the pictures!! And the prices weren't too bad. Most things in London are double what they are out here because the dollar is worthless pretty much out there. Oy! Oh well. So guess what they had since it was March 5th...during the Easter season? Don't know? I'll tell ya, Cadbury Egg McFlurries!!! *drool* Oh my god...I can still sense that bad boy...it was soooo good! I wish they made those out here!! Then we took a short walk and saw a little bit around where the airport was before heading back to the hotel.

I was full and ready for sleep again, so I fell fast asleep, but poor Berek who already has a hard enough time trying to sleep at home, didn't fall asleep until like 6a.m.! I got up at 8a.m. and realized he was still sawing logs. We were supposed to go into London that day to really take in the main city and also find out about our train tickets to Scotland which we would be departing for the following day. Well, I was kinda bored, so I got up and walked over to McDonald's to get breakfast.

Okay...so this might seem lame, but I think their crosswalks are the HEAT!! I love them...perhaps it's because I am simply in love with their way of life out there...but yeah...I'll show you a picture when I get them all uploaded. :) The other awesome thing is that there are daffodils EVERYWHERE!!! Medians...sidewalks...everywhere! :D It was so awesome! I grabbed a couple of breakfast bagels and walked back to the hotel. The weather by the way is a lot cooler than out here in CA. Which I totally dug. I made sure to have beanies and scarves. :)

I ate breakfast whilst Berek slept. Poor baby. I watched British television...which I did until about noon when Berek finally woke up. He was very apologetic because he knew how badly I wanted to go to London that day and he was worried that we wouldn't have much time out there before we had to turn in for the day. At 1p.m. we left the hotel and asked how to make our way to Central London. The concierge had us take the FREE bus (yes, this was where we found out we could bus back and forth from hotel row to Heathrow for free) back to Heathrow so we could hitch a ride on the famed Tube! :D The public transit system out there is truly awesome. The tube only costs £4.00 ($8.00) a day for a specific line. We rode the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow and got off at Hyde Park Corner.

Hyde Park...what an amazing and huge place!! There was so much to see with all the monuments. We wandered around that place...and I never really wanted to leave. There were daffodils everywhere. Some were bright yellow and others were a more muted yellow, almost white. There was a part of the park that was a little more overgrown than the other part which was more manicured, but it was still gorgeous. There is a large lake in the park called Serpentine Lake. It was gorgeous. By the time we wandered there it was already 2:30 ish or so. The sun, by the way is in a different part of the sky than it is here in the U.S., since the UK is farther north. You can tell the difference. The day looks so weird out there because the sun never really gets overhead there.

From Hyde Park, we found a little area that had many monuments and war monuments. It was so neat to see all these things and read about them. Again, when I have pictures uploaded, I'll let you know. :) From there we went to Buckingham Palace. Darn it! My dad didn't tell the Queen that his Polish Princess was in town! ;) It was pretty cool to see the palace in the flesh. It was pretty institutional looking from the gates, but I know that this place has so much history and so much going on within that it was magical. :)

From the Palace we wandered down Birdcage Walk and headed towards Westminster Abbey. Unfortunately we weren't able to go inside, but that didn't matter. I was happy with just being able to gaze upon in it in the flesh. There were some really creepy old trees there that I got a picture of which looked cool because the stained glass windows of the abbey were behind them.

We wandered around Parliament and caught a glimpse of some Bobbies and a couple more monuments. (Heh, between the monuments and daffodils...I was sold on this town!) We then headed over to Big Ben and the River Thames. We sat on these cool benches for a bit. The sides of them almost appeared somewhat Egyptian. Our legs were hurting by then...well perhaps mostly mine, but it didn't matter. I wanted more! So from there we headed to Trefalgo Square and then we went and had dinner at a little restaurant called The Mermaid's Tail. We both had a nice fish and chips dinner and finished it off with some sticky toffee pudding. :D Yum! I love British food!! After that, we two tired peeps headed to the Tube and went to...Kings Cross Station! Did you know that there really is a Platform 9 3/4? Hehe...well there is now apparently. And there is a luggage cart halfway in the wall! Of course we have pictures...I'll put them up soon. We got our tickets for the train at King's Cross for our trip up to Scotland. Berek was going to get them at the automated teller, but I suggested that since we didn't know the lay of the land and how things worked, that it'd be better if we asked a person. As it turned out we got a better deal than we would've if we had ordered them ahead of time online. :D Woot!

From Kings Cross...we headed back to the hotel for our last night there.

Well...I think that's enough for now. I'll report on more of our honeymoon later.
