Shawn and I met my new OB today. I like him. He's not fuzzy/squishy or avuncular or obviously nurturing, but he's competent, friendly, and seems to treat me with respect. I also think he's got a slight twinkle in his eye indicating that he may be an introvert, but he does have a sense of humor under there. I also liked how happy he looked in the pictures of him with the babies he'd delivered.

The was the first time (other than the first ultrasound) that Shawn got to come to an appointment with me -- one of the benefits of seeing someone down the hill and coordinating appointments with Shawn's school schedule. Actually, I think that waiting was the most fun: he read through a baby magazine and showed me cute articles, then I sat on his lap and we snuggled, beaming at each other while simultaneously making everyone around us ill. Oh, well. At least we were enjoying ourselves.

Next up: the glucose tolerance test. Too bad we need to use their lab, meaning I have to go down the hill again sometime in the next week. It would be nice if I had reliable transportation, but we'll figure it out. Today, I hitched a ride home with a friend who lives up here but commutes, which made things easier on Shawn.

Next ultrasound is scheduled for February 24th. We hope to be able to find out gender then.

hee hee!

:)
