Last weekend, our friend, Elisandrya's house burned down along with all her possessions that weren't at her store. (The cause was supposedly due to old electrical wiring, not fireworks.)

In addition to being uninsured (she was renting), she lost many of her beloved animals. Miraculously, Odin, her 10' boa, managed to escape his burning cage and hid under the couch. He's expected to survive, but he sustained severe injuries (equivalent to second and third degree burns on a human) that require expensive medication.
