Proving that my need to help others sometimes overrides my common sense, I once again offered to help the Big Bear RenFaire. It wasn't a lot, just a few hours today helping set up, and I enjoyed it.

The funny thing is that returning from a year's absence, I find myself something of a folk hero for the faire.

Was it because of my charm and good-natured enthusiasm (one person had dubbed me the "sunniest personality in the shire")? Was it because I worked my butt off handling one crisis after another, ending up in the ER because I was working so hard? Was it because of the cut of my bodice?

Nope -- it was because I told off the fire marshall.

*shakes head*

I even apologized to her later. Oh, well.
