For all that I adore Hunter beyond human comprehension, I must admit that I do take the occasional perverse pleasure in messing with his darling little head.

I don't do it too often. Okay, so when he was only a few weeks old and fell asleep with his head propped in my hand while I was burping him, I did use him as a hand puppet. But I doubt he remembers that.

Today, Hunter was gleefully pushing the "phone finder" button on the base of our portable phone, setting the phone itself (in the other room) a-beeping. He'd grin at me and happily toddle off to find the phone (he has this thing about phones). I'd wait until he'd just leave the room, then turn off the beeping at the base. There'd be a pause, then he'd come toddling back into the room, around the bed, and over to the phone base and start pushing it again until it started beeping.

Then he'd smile at me and happily toddle out of the room again -- and I'd turn it off again. Pause, return toddle, push, out of the room, evil mommy turns it off....
This went on for a good 15 minutes.

*sigh*

I really should start a therapy fund for the poor kid.
