I'm off to the Surrey Writers' Conference for the weekend. I'm taking Amtrak, but from Seattle to Surrey I'll be on a bus. Bummer about the bus. However, it should be nice to read or nap or write in a notebook instead of driving.

I'm looking foward to a writing-focused weekend, a re-charge or a kick-in-the-pants if I ever needed one. The novel I'm pitching this year will be one I haven't written yet and I'll be brainstorming that on the train.

In other news, next week is World Fantasy in Tempe. X and I will be heading on down there and we'll also visit my mom. We'll be staying down there for a week and after that I'll be on seasonal layoff. Yay!

I'm not being good at updating my journal and I'd like to remedy that.

I'll write a conference report when I get back.
