It's been a while since I posted anything of any real value (the recent link to the General Zod website was taken down due to some complaints I received regarding a massive amount of pop-up windows associated with it), so I figure it's high time I did.

Things are definitely on an upswing right now, and hopefully I'm not jinxing it by bringing that up. Jen and I are coming up on our 1-year anniversary in about two weeks (boy, it doesn't feel like it's been a year already), and we're planning on hitting Disneyland for a husband and wife day in the park. We've got reservations at the Blue Bayou for that evening, so we can spend the rest of the day wandering the Magic Kingdom. I love her.

Work has also failed to suck in a major way lately. After the hell that was the Joint Commission inspections earlier this month, things have settled down considerably. On top of that, I was told yesterday that I was being given an "equity increase", meaning they finally realized that I had been way underpaid for the amount of crap I do around here. So, the powers that be officially changed my title to "HRIS Specialist", upped my pay 20% and made the change retroactive to early January, meaning I'll have an extra $650 or so this paycheck just in retroactive pay on top of my normal pay (at the new higher rate). Woo!

Extra money means more things I can spend the money no. At the moment, I'm currently surfing the net, looking for - wait for it -

Driving schools.

Yep, a driving school. It's high time I bit the bullet, realized that no, public transportation won't get me everywhere I want to go, and learned to drive. I've already got my permit, but the extra little windfall from the raise means that now's as good of a chance that I've had in a while to get this done. Besides, I owe Jen about ten years of chauffeur duty after all the times she's ferried me from point A to point B.

As I may or may not have mentioned in here before, I'm running a tabletop D&D game, which I'm thoroughly enjoying. My DM skills were initially a bit rusty, but I think the game's finally around where I want it to be. Jen (our friendly neighborhood silver dragon), Berek (the party's pet chicken... er... Ranger), Pita (the druid with the Dire Kitten, played by our cat Amber), Carrie (the lady of the night turned fireball-slinging sorceress), Bryce (the resident tank... with a rapier?), and Al (the spray-on kung-fu maniac with the IQ of a brick) are the valiant party members, and are currently dealing with a minor spat between a few gods. Nothing big, you know, just a psychotic gnoll god and his cult sapping the energy from another deity to fuel their own evil machinations.

Beyond that, well, it's life as usual. I'll try to post more, I promise.
