And everything just keeps on rolling along.

I had a phone interview last week with a company out here that was looking for a HRIS specialist, and went for an in-person interview yesterday. I thought it went well, and my thoughts were confirmed this morning when they asked me to come back on Thursday to meet with the rest of the HR team so they could make a final decision. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, although I know if I do get it it'll be tricky at first - the database system they use is different than the one I've been working with for the past seven years, and while most databases are essentially the same concept-wise, it's the mechanics of it that I'll have to learn from scratch. Also, it's not a healthcare company... I've been at a hospital since early 1999, so the environment would be considerably different. Here goes nothing.

Jen is still under the weather, and I'm hoping she gets over it soon. I don't like seeing her sick.

Health issues permitting, this weekend we're going to be driving out to Jen's mom's place for Gabriel's first birthday, and the following weekend we're flying into New York to visit my family and finally introduce Gabe to my brother (and his uncle) John. I'm really looking forward to this trip - I was only in NYC a few weeks ago, but that was for my grandmother's funeral, and the mood this time should be better for everyone.

Right now, the baby's up here in the loft with me, chomping away on a biscuit while Jen's trying to sleep off whatever it is that's ailing her.
