So I was casually looking at other people's blogs when I ran across one about a guy that was talking about what he had, what he liked, and what was cool back when he was growing up. well obviously I'm much younger than this cat. But I found it was pretty interesting how fondly people remember certain points in their lives. And it gave me the idea to write about my own.
Well first off, I was born in March, 5, 1991, I know I'm still a kid, but I'm old enough to look back fondly on some things that we don't have anymore. First off, was actually decent music, I mean I don't want to put those who love mainstream, boring music down. But I miss the days when all the bands didn't seem to sound the same. I mean the god's of rock, have seemed to die, around the time that Kurt Cobain died. Its really a shame, and I hope that our generation can step out of this rut.
When Nickelodeon was awesome, dude, rocko's modern life, was AWESOME! Are you afraid of the dark, was also really good. I mean when the parents started to tighten down on what their children couldn't watch, was when NICK went straight to SHIT. I mean they are so desperate to try to prove that they are a CHILDREN's NETWORK, but they have kids that look like twenty year old whores! I mean no wonder there are child molesters in the world. When every 10 year old thinks they are supposed to look like they are 20, I mean have we become that obsessed with youth, that we are already perverting our children's mind's at such a young ( and impressionable age) I mean come on, what's more terrible; crude kids shows that are ANIMATED. Or these shows that all but show half naked, prepubescent girls and boys, that are dressed up in ADULT CLOTHING. COME ON PEOPLE! OPEN YOUR EYES!
I remember growing up, having pretty much EVERY TOY UNDER THE SUN. I mean I had all of the glow worms, the rock jewelery, the MY BABY ALIVE, I had EVERYTHING, my room growing up looking like a TOY STORE. (Though to tell you the truth my favorite toy is still, bubble wrap)
I remember when I was in school, and the teacher could STILL interact with the STUDENTS. Now teachers are so TIED up in government BULLSHIT, that they aren't even allowed to teach students. I mean do you really think that the educational system is teaching your children to their fullest potential? NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND my ASS. Basically its away of bringing your children down to a level where they can keep everyone together, leaving those that are intellegent enough to excel to be dulled by others that aren't mentally capable enough to step up to the plate.
I remember back in the days when justice meant, getting to tag back when the time came for you get to be IT. I mean life has gotten so crazy, that we are always after SOMEONE! We always have to find someone to blame for what went on in our lives, for our failures. And we never get to take a good long hard look at ourselves. If we lose money, its the economy. If we get taken advantage of, it's the government. Well I agree to a certain extent that we have been RAPED by the government, but you know I'm sure that there was a time when WE MADE THE GOVERNMENT. Was it not our decision as a whole, at one point or another? I believe that the ONLY way we are going to get out of this HELL that we have placed ourselves in is TO STOP, blaming others. It wasn't terrorists, governments, rulers, power, that put us in our situation. It was greed, why can't we were together, that leads me to my final point.
I remember back in the day, when working in a team, meant actually getting together and through thick or thin, winning or losing; you stuck together with those people no matter what. You had to stand up and admit, when their was failure, and you had to WORK to get things done. We have gotten so lazy that NO WONDER why OTHER COUNTRIES HATE US FOR THE MAJORITY. We don't have to work to get anything in life, while there are people suffering, and starving, we are sitting on our obese asses, and not getting up to lift a damn finger for someone else. NO WONDER the world is going straight to shit; not i'm not a terrorist/ anarchist or anything but can you REALLY BLAME them for taking up for what was theirs? COME ON NOW!
Why don't we all go back to grammar school and relearn these basic things. WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN EVERY DAY, to do these things and yet we can't do them for ourselves. MAYBE we should learn after our children, mayber we should put the Stupid Bullshit behind, and actually do SOMETHING to better the world. Politically, ethically, morally, emotionally, religiously; when you think about it, they are ALL TIED in, when we can just learn to get along and help one another then we can live in perfect harmony, enough with the hippie bullshit. But you know, people can talk about peace all day long, and as long as they continue to do the same things every day, the WORLD ISN'T GOING TO GET BETTER! The end!
