So Matt and I have found out that he will be staying at fort gordon for two years. Which means that he will more than likely be deployed; but that's another rant for another day.
Honestly i'm sort of irritated by that; most people would love to be able to stay home. But the reason Matt JOINED the military was to GET AWAY. Out of all the places in the WORLD that we could have gotten sent to we're stuck in GEORGIA for two years. I've lived here for almost 19 years and I think I've done my time. The only good thing about living here, is that I LOVE the SUMMER's I love when the temperature is 110 degrees and sticky hot.
The military really ticks me off; I try not to tackle things that I don't understand, but the way things work on base is rediculous. We won't be able to live on base for two months; it takes that long to be able to apply for off base housing; so where are you expected to live in-between. Next rant, Matt signed up for SATCOM in May of 2009, he was shipped off to basic July 8th, came home September 27th, and Started AIT the next day; but no one can tell us when his AIT is REALLY going to be over; what he's really going to be doing. There are no CLEARLY DEFINED terms in the Military; and last (this is just my opinion and no offense to others) but Matt has the highest grade in his class at AIT, so why the HECK are they giving him a Tactical job. I thought that job was basically for idiots; and most of the time they told him that he wont even be doing his job. I don't understand; why wont anyone tell him at least what is expected of him.
And now here we come to the last challenge; finding our house. We're looking at two places right now, one is a house in Evans, Georgia that is pretty nice. Two floors, two beds, two baths. And we'd be sharing the responsibility with another guy and his wife; and a Apartment where he used to live in Evans. which are pretty okay, I just HATE WHITE WALLS; they bother me and make me feel like i'm in a mental hospital or something. So saturday, we are going to look at the house (god I want that one to work out) and also his old apartments.
So we'll see how everything goes; and no don't think that I'm okay with him going to afghanistan, I just know that I cant change it, so I might as well deal with it. what I don't mind is that, this is just his projected place. Who knows, between now and June (or thereabouts) we might get sent to Hawaii; or that might just be me fantasizing. Oh god, what I would do to live in Hawaii!
