Cool interviews and a useful quote

I'm working afternoons this week and trying not to spend too much of my writing time in the mornings internetting, so this'll have to be a short entry...but I couldn't resist passing on two interviews I just loved:

  • An SFBC interview with Delia Sherman, in preparation for her new book Changeling, which looks awesome. (I'm so frustrated I can't buy this on Amazon.co.uk! Worst of all, it used to be "available for preorder" but is now "unavailable"...grr. Next time I come to the States...)

  • An interview with Naomi Novik (author of the fabulous Temeraire books - Napoleonic war dragons, so much fun), up at Strange Horizons this week. It made me want to go on an African safari...

  • And I discovered a really good, appropriate quote yesterday that I need to stick onto the top of my computer screen for constant reminders:

"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows; it empties today of its strength."
    -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every time I start falling back into my own deadly worry cycle, I keep repeating that quote to myself like a mantra.

Now back to writing (with scones, hurray! - Patrick made lovely scones yesterday during his time at home during the day).

PS: And one quick question - does anyone know of any good books on 19th-century Parisian history?
