The weather here still feels like a miracle. Whoa - another day, and it's still warm! Unbelievable! This was definitely the right time in my life to come to Florida. :)

We spent most of yesterday morning and afternoon just hanging out on the screened-in front porch, writing and reading. I read through the really good notes Tiffany Trent sent me for "The Art of Deception" and made lots of notes of my own to try to figure out how to expand and enrich the story in the ways she'd suggested. I finished reading The Mirador and started re-reading Steven Brust's The Phoenix Guards, my favorite-ever swashbuckling fantasy novel. (Dumas's The Three Musketeers with added magic! Perfect.) We drove out to Borders and I got to see more of the books I'd read about online. Lots of good ones, but the one that really blew me away was Carrie Jones's Tips on Having a Gay (ex) Boyfriend. I read the first chapter and just loved it. If it hadn't been in hardcover, I would have bought it right away; as it is, I'll be waiting impatiently until it comes into paperback, much like Shannon Hale's Book of a Thousand Days, which also looks amazing but is also in hardcover. Sigh.

Today we're heading out to the beach.

I really, really like being on vacation here.
