I just got the following email from Waterstones bookstore, where I have a loyalty card that earns points every time I buy a book:

As you're one of our best customers, we wanted to give you a little treat to say thank you. We've credited your account (Card number shown above) with 100 bonus points for you to spend however you like, in store or online. There's no expiry date on your bonus, we just wanted to show our thanks!

I don't know whether to feel pleased or unnerved by this news. (How many books do I buy, again? Eep? Not that many, I'd thought...)

At least when I get these emails nowadays they're from a bookstore rather than a credit card company...I think that makes me feel better...

(...and yes, of course I'm going to be spending those bonus points!)
