Enjoy the ride.

Currently, I live in a small 'crossroad' town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm raising a wonderful son, cultivating a promissing career in Real Estate and enjoying every day! I'm involved in many community activities, charitable organizations and do LOTS of Yoga! Life is a great ride. Things change, I adapt and follow the 'road' with love and humility. • Good Times in San Jose

I had a wonderful weekend in San Jose visiting my Aunt Kelly, cousin Jarrod and his wife Lacey. We shopped and shopped. We ate at lots of fun little restaurants. And we gabbed and gabbed and gabbed some more.

Jarrod and Lacey took me to Nordstrom Rack where I found LOTS of good deals, including a very stylish diaper bag. Just because I'm a Mom doesn't mean I have to look like it! Look out Catheys Valley!

I could tell Allex loved the visit too. He was happy the whole time. Aunt Kelly pushed him in the stroller all day Sunday. He was more content then I've ever seen him in the stroller. She played with him - and even got him a stuffed animal from Pottery Barn Kids (my new favorite store!). She had to get it because it was a soft fluffy dog. All day, whenever he saw a dog, he would exclaim, "Dah. Dah! Dah." I think it's his first word! He loves all dogs he sees. Amd there were lots of them around this weekend.

The Stanford Mall in Palo Alto was beautiful and Oh, So Trendy. Lots of parents with kids in strollers and small dogs on leashes. Most people were wearing brand new looking sunglasses, 'dockers' pants, and 'clarks' type shoes. They were shopping in stores like Ralph Lauren, Ann Taylor, Pottery Barn, etc. You could definitely see a trend - shabby chic, too-cool, california sunshine, yuppi. Loved it!

Which reminds me - we had quite a laugh at the trend we saw in Los Gatos. Los Gatos is a little, wealthy 'suburb' of San Jose. (Very similar to Pacific Palisades) As we were driving around and shopping there, I noticed that 95% of the women I saw wore black, stretch yoga style pants. Most had the body for it, but even if they didn't, they still wore them.

Both places were quite the contrast from the boots and jeans you see up here in the good ol' country hills. I never ventured to that area from SoCal. It was a lot of fun to see the differences and similarities. The homes were a similar age and style. The people and culture seemed similar.

I enjoyed myself tremendously! Kelly, Jarrod and Lacey were such a joy to be around. Good company, good sights, and good weather! Good times!
