Ho Hum

I’ve tried to post an entry at least a dozen times in the last month to no avail. Either I’ve had something to say but haven’t felt like saying it, or I start writing something so absolutely pointless (like how I finally found yummy vegetarian gravy or how I’m sick to death of my dogs getting into the garbage when I’m not home) and so I’ve ended up not posting anything at all. So here it is, the ice breaker entry that will hopefully get me posting regularly again.

The four glorious weeks I did not have school were just…great. Even when I was struck down with a debilitating flu for the last week I was happy. I’d wake in fits, realize I didn’t have any work to do, embrace the nausea, and lose consciousness again.

The holidays were busy. I spent Christmas Eve with A at his family’s big gathering and I took him home with me for Christmas dinner, where he tucked in to the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding like a true member of the family. There seemed to be a holiday gathering of some kind every day (sometimes twice a day) for a week and I was just relieved when it was all over.

A’s big New Year’s party went well, only I was a bit disappointed when he drank a bit too much and I had to leave earlier than I would have liked. I guess you’ll have that…

My grades were mediocre (three B’s and a B+). I can live with them, but I’m not thrilled. I plan to work a little harder this semester and of course try to find a job. We’ll see how that goes…

Other than that, life is pretty quiet. I’m enjoying this spring-like winter by taking long walks with the dogs by the lake and I’m relieved that, thanks to this mild weather, my annual I Hate Winter Freakout shouldn’t be an issue this year.

So yeah, that’s all I’ve got. I can’t put off reading Contracts any longer. Or maybe I can…
