Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Music of the Day:
-- KJUG - Country Western radio station

Days meditating: 5

Drinking: Water; orange black tea

I had to bring the radio down from the top of the pantry. The electrical outlet is not working. Michael discovered that the breaker was tripped and would not go back into place. For now, I have the radio down by my feet and plugged into my extension cord.

Michael called the maintenance department but the guy who is most familiar with our complex is not in and since we aren't burning down, they will take care of it Monday. Oh joy!.

I am glad it wasn't an emergency.

I am still asleep when the alarm goes off this morning. I am warm, fuzzy, and in a dream. I do not want to wake up. I consider going back to sleep but I get up instead and get dressed. Oh I don't want to be up.

However, I am glad I did get up because the sunrise was beautiful. Additionally, I see the last sliver of the waning moon. By tomorrow I imagine the moon will be dark. How lucky I am to have seen this mystical phase of the moon.

They clouds are shades of pink from a dark pink-red to a lighter shade of pink. There is blue sky peeking through and the edges of the clouds are a bright gold or maybe silver. I cannot really tell and the world is still not awake yet.

When I arrive at the community center, I find I am the fourth one in line. Yea! It has been a long time since I have been this close to the front of the line. Kevin was not there today.

S was there this morning and in a talkative mood. He said his daughter wasn't coming for the holidays. She would be going to her in-laws this year. She lives up north but I did not inquire as to where up north. However, wherever she is it is colder than it is here.

Another S was there and she hasn't been in awhile. She appeared confused as to what to do which seems odd as she has been through the line before.

I met J this morning. She had her nails done nail salon in Madonna Plaza. I know the one she is speaking of because I have been there to have pedicures. She got solar nails and they are red and sparkly. I am not sure what solar nails are but they are better than acrylic and gel nails.

Other than doing my morning ritual when I get back, my big plan for the day is to wash up and slice the strawberries for freezing.

I got the kitchen sink area cleaned up and the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I need to sweep and wash the floor today as well. Maybe if I feel up to it, I will get the vacuum cleaner out and go over the carpet. Whoa there, I don't want to be too busy!

I am trying to stay away from the 'Net until I get my writing done. I find if I get the 'Net going then I spend more time checking my news pages and e-mail than I do writing. Then my writing takes me all day to do. When what I really want is to do my writing and be done with it.

R shared the other day that he has trouble of knowing what to do when he gets up in the morning. I find I experience this too even though some days I do have a plan. Some days the plan works and then other days the plan gets in the way of getting things done.

Like yesterday, I threw my plan out the window and just did what needed to be done. Then as time allowed, I would do some of the things in my daily plan. I didn't get everything.

Back at the community center, things were a buzzing. I saw one person with the number 59 and who knows how many people after that. I went socializing about the group conversing with those I knew.

We got lots of good stuff today and there were plenty of provisions. I guess that the Morro Bay food bank was not open today so everything they would have gotten came to us. Yippee, there is another chicken in our bag. I got blueberries and blackberries, which I cleaned up. The blueberries are in the freezer along with the strawberries. The blackberries I washed up and sprinkled with sugar and I am enjoying them now with a cup of tea.

Michael is working on the turkey thawing that out. We are going to keep it simple.
