Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Oh what a night!

It was quiet, just us three. Michael napped a little until the big moment. I was reading and watching the doings down in Times Square in New York.

At midnight we opened our bottle of sparkling cider and toasted one another for making through another year.

We walked outside and gazed at the night sky and listened to the neighborhood revelers. We could hear fire crackers and watched the fire trucks with their lights flashing drive through town.

Ah, life is grand.

I decided it is on my bucket list that I want to go to New York City and experience the experience of New Year's Eve once. I don't do crowds very well these days but I think it would be fun to be in the midst of people waiting to watch the ball drop and to be with the one you love.

After the festivities, I got a craving for French fries. So, my darling husband fried me up some potatoes which were ever so yummy.

I wrote in my new journal all the happenings of the beginning of the new year. Bailey was crazed as he played on the cat tree and was up and down it. We even watched a movie. During all of this I had taken my nighttime medications and when they took hold, I began drifting off to sleep. Michael would wake me and I would be present for a short while and then sleep gathered me in. Around 2:30 a.m. we headed off to bed.

What a wonderful way to begin a new year.

Happy New Year everyone!
