Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Rain was forecasted for today. I heard sprinkles earlier this afternoon; just enough to dampen the walkway and the patio but that was it. Granted I like the sunshine but we really could use some rain.

After I had some down time this, I got dressed and went for my walk. And, since it wasn't raining, why not? Today, I backtracked from the direction I went in on Friday. I'd have to say it seemed easier with having the hills to do first thing. However, I still find myself huffing and puffing up the steeper hills. One step at a time, one step at a time, I keep telling myself. Michael advised me that I had taken three minutes off my time from my last walk. Woo hoo!

My beans have soaked overnight and are now in a pot simmering away. I will need to cook up some rice. Anyone have a good way to cook rice? When we could buy Basmati rice we did it in the steamer and it came out perfect. Now we have rice we get from the food bank and I'm not sure what to do with it to come out good. Suggestions will be appreciated.

We've been having a Six-Feet Under marathon beginning on Saturday night through yesterday. Man, that family is sooo dysfunctional! Why Nate is sticking with Brenda is beyond me. Oh well, it's only TV and I need to stick my nose back in my book because it is due on Wednesday of this week.
