Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends." -Richard Bach

Today's meditation time was initially spent trying to find a comfortable position. I don't know what it is that my back is acting up. After moving around on my floor pillow, I finally unfolded it and laid it flat on the floor. Then I placed a sofa pillow on the floor pillow and then I could heave a sigh of relief. Now I can focus on my breathing which I did fairly well this morning.

My morning began later than usual because Michael and I (I hardly ever do this) stayed up until 3 a.m. Bailey was fairly good about not pestering me but then, he was up till 3 a.m. too.

I thought I was going to be crock potting by now but I couldn't get the roast into the pot. I placed the top on the meat and placed it in the refrigerator until Michael was up and about and could cut the meat into two chunks.

Michael takes a gander at the meat and advises me that it isn't thawed out all the way. With his pushing and prodding he got the whole roast into the pot. By now, it is too late in the day to cook it. So, we will have chicken tonight and when I get up tomorrow, I will start the crock pot and dinner will be ready by tomorrow night. Yum!

My new daily plan now includes cleaning up the kitchen every morning and sweeping the floor. Not only are we messy but you would be surprised how much hair Bailey loses in a day. Granted I groom him at least once a day and sometimes twice and still there are these cat hair balls all over the floor. So far I'm two for two in the kitchen clean up.

Before I could get settled in to the computer, my neighbor, Mrs. T, called me to see about going for a walk. Since I haven't walked this week I said yes. The last time we went walking, Mrs. T said the walk was too easy. Well, today I was going to take her one of my long walks. We didn't get as far as I had planned but I was okay with that since I was feeling pooped and Mrs. T's foot was bothering from an owie from the other day's gardening.

Coming in the home stretch we saw Mr. T and our neighbor out talking. Mrs. T and I joined in and had a good time. Our neighbor said she was feeling better and she looked it. I told her once she had a few trips to the mail box under her belt, Mrs. T and I would begin taking her on walks with us. Only we would begin by going to the end of the street and back until she builds up her strength.

The weather is just heavenly - sunny and a mild breeze.

We didn't go to the food bank today since our cupboards and fridge is full. I won't need to go until Tuesday. This makes for a nice break and good to know we have enough food for a few days. I like the fact we have meat in the freezer.
