No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"Remember, when you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself as someone who needs to judge. The same applies to judgments directed at you." - Wayne Dyer

Well, the first foray into the kitchen was for Bailey's benefit of which he didn't much care for. What I got from it was a burn on my right forearm and kitty crackers that Bailey won't eat. I may go give them to my neighbor who has a cat.

Today, I have decided to make an apple pie. We have a plethora of apples that needed to be eaten. I did need to purchase a glass pie plate. I hate baking in metal pans. I found the last one in the store.

What amazed me about this day is that I was calm through all of it. My contributions to dinner which I haven't done in years are:

1. Made an apple pie, even got to practice my slicing techniques. I made the crust from scratch.

2. Green bean casserole. Yes, I did make it with my own hands. It was very tasty too.

3. Finally, I made gravy. Ooh this was go good.

During all of this was going around the kitchen keeping it in order by washing dishes as needed.

We ate at our regular dinner time. What I liked there was no stress on anyone's part. The meal came together and we had fun and the food was good. We have always liked to cook together. Then when the mental illness took over, I slipped out of the cocoon of the cooking twosome and it was left up to Michael to do.

Maybe change is on the way.

I hope everyone's day was what it needed to be for you. I wish you all well.
