Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Saturday
Waxing Gibbous Moon in Aries

I believe in Small Business Saturday much more than Black Friday. Where I live I support all of our local stores for as much as I can. I always shop locally.

The tourists in SLO-town are rude. They act like they own the place and we, locals, had best get out of the way. Granted they do bring money into the downtown area but is it worth it for the area?

Me, I'm happy shopping at home or on-line to get my things.

Then there is the parking situation in SLO-town. Plus, we now have the meters which take credit cards. What is this world coming to? Most of them only take quarters. Well, there goes my laundry money.

It is next to nothing unless you put out the call to the parking fairies to save you a space by the door of the shop you want to go into. Here in the burgh, we really don't have that problem.

Leo Babauta has this idea of not buying anything. Here is his link to his idea of how to celebrate the holidays. Buy Nothing until 2013. Do you think we could do it? Learn how to make things, offer babysitting to parents of families, and offer to help someone clean up their home. There are lots of ideas that would be a lot more appreciated than a gift that is going to end up in a closet.

Enough on shopping, today is sunshine and a light breeze. We do have all the windows open. The meteorologist says it is to be good weather wise until the first of the week. This is all good with me.

I may attempt getting outside in the yard - back and front- and do some pruning of my plants.

And then, I may not. It could be a book reading today. Of course, after I have read my 10 pages or a chapter then I can go out and do something.

I hope every one has a sparkly day.
