Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Sunday - August 25, 2013

I woke up with a jerk at the alarm. This time of day my tremors seem the worst. My hands are fluttering everywhere except where I want them: 1. Shut my alarm off, and 2. Take my thyroid medication. Jerking along I get the two done and I go back to sleep for another hour when I take the next dose of medication and my to check my glucose and take my insulin shot. I am so mad because Michael can get away with taking pills.

I have days I just hate sticking myself and I want to stop but I don't. I know I need to talk to my doctor first I never thought I would be able to give myself a shot since I hate needles so. Luckily they are small needles.

Back to waking up, I woke up with Bailey sleeping on my chest. Yes, this 12 pound little beastie is waiting for me to finally wake up and feed him. Once my alarm goes off, he moves closer to my face all ready to give my nose a lick or two to remind me he is waiting. He is very patient because I've learned I have to take care of myself first.

We have a ritual Bailey and I, once I'm done with myself, I go in and shut off the outside light in the front. Then with him in the lead we go to the dining room and shut off that exterior light, I open the blinds, and finally open the slider. I pick up his water bowl and last night's food dish. I believe giving him a fresh bowl of water every day so he will drink it. I hear animals are supposed to drink plenty of water as we do. He doesn't pay much attention to that what he wants is the can in the refrigerator. He stretches up the drawers, I swear he could put them up on the counter but thank heavens he doesn't. I prepare his plate and warm it up a little in the microwave and with scurrying feet he heads for his place mat where I have to push him out of the way to be able to put the plate down. Now we will have peace in the apartment until the next mealtime.

The highlight of the evening is watching Sunday night football. I did look up one the 49er's quarterback. He is Colin Kaepernick. It is said that he is one of the best quarterbacks. We shall see. Well, the 49ers won the game 34 to 14. It is nice to have a team I am rooting for win.
