Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Can There Be A Day Without Anxiety?
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

I don't know why but most mornings I wake up with dread or anxiety.

I'm not getting up by an alarm anymore. I just get up with the sun as it comes through my window. Since the bedroom is on the back of the apartment, I don't notice the light until about 8:30 a.m. This is the time I prefer to get up. It is a push to get me out of bed.

I also had problems with my hips last night, especially my left hip with the known arthritis. I don't know if it is the mattress or lying on that side for too long. Gosh, I am just falling a part.

Starting out this morning, I find this bush by the local saloon in full bloom. What a spot of glorious color.

A Spot of Color

I decided to walk into town so I could go to the store. I needed to pick up my scripts. There's another anxiety in whether the pharmacy is open due to the holiday today. Then I need to pick up some food for Bailey.

To make my mile I walk all the way to the major cross street and back around to the grocery store. This way I get in my mile. While at the corner, I found this different view of Hollister Peak. The peak is the tallest of the grouping.

A Different Look at Hollister Peak

Shopping done and back on the street, I am passed by a couple doing some serious walking with hand weights: she with two pounds and he with three pounds.

I caught up with them at the light and was able to ask them about the benefits of walking with hand weights. I was told that the weights helped with bone density and working the arm muscles.

Hmmm, since I hold my walking stick with one hand I can hold a free weight with my other hand. Then I can switch half way through my walk. So, tomorrow, I will have to try holding a three pound weight and see what difference that will make.

Anything to improve my health. I am open to any ideas you do for exercise.

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy.Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

-- Jose N. Harris, MI VIDA

"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." - William Penn, English entrepreneur and philosopher
